The position will be in Morgantown, WV.Duties: The successful candidate will practice in all areas of Pediatric Neurology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, he or she will be actively involved in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.Qualifications: MD or DO or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license. Additionally, candidates must be board certified, be at an Associate Professor rank or higher and must have at least 7 years of experience in an academic medical center. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, a demonstrated track-record of leadership, excellent communication skills, and publications in high-impact journals are required. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.WVU Hospitals maintains a Level IV Comprehensive Epilepsy Program. The Epilepsy Center includes hardwired video-EEG monitoring units for both adults and pediatrics. The facility also features neuroimaging support including spectroscopic MRI and quantitative PET scans. WVU Medicine Children's is a regional referral center for pediatric subspecialties and provides faculty direct access to highly advanced technology and comprehensive ancillary pediatric services. Our new 150 bed Children's Hospital and Women's Pavilion will have a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology, and GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff. The anticipated completion date is early 2021. The hospital will include 34 pediatric beds, 54 NICU beds, 31 PICU beds, Heart Institute, and a dedicated Cancer Institute. WVU is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently. The Women's Pavilion will house a 30-bed obstetrical unit and maternal-fetal medicine clinic.WVU Medicine is West Virginia University's affiliated health system, West Virginia's largest private employer, and a national leader in patient safety and quality.
