The Commercial Solutions Division of Miller Electric is searching for an Electrical Engineer who is focused on hardware design and power electronics. This Electrical Engineer will work primarily on continuous improvement in our welding and plasma cutting products.This opportunity welcomes individuals who demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as this role involves collaborative work with team members from engineering, operations / manufacturing, customer support, and marketing. This individual will foster innovation and support for our diverse product portfolio, which includes the MillerMatic, MultiMatic, and Spectrum brands.Your Essential Functions:Design, develop, and support cost effective welding equipment in an ever-evolving product market.Construct and simulate circuits and systems to solve the pain points of our highly diverse market segments.Develop meaningful patents to innovate product features and technologies while also defending our strong market position in the welding industry.Collaborate with Quality, Operations, Materials, and Engineering team members to drive improvement of key process indicators (metrics) such as manufacturing line failures, warranty, and scrap rates.Lead life cycle support efforts such as end of life analysis, alternative component identification & qualification, and associated redesign activities.Problem solve through the application of troubleshooting techniques, testing, and necessary redesign.Support supplier quality initiatives through continuous improvement efforts and as necessary root cause analysis.Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and NPD teams to ensure production and supplier readiness with new product launches.Support divisional and category sourcing teams in identifying and implementing cost savings initiatives.
