Job Description

May lead the execution of Information Security policies, standards, controls, and internal/external audits and assessments.

Supports and provides guidance with IT General Controls, regulatory and affiliate audits, and exams. Influences business and IT partners to continually mature and improve technologies, procedures, and internal controls. Provides subject matter knowledge and guidance in at least one area of Information Security. Understands the relationship between the technologies and internal security controls to deliver quality, innovative services and protect Thrivent's brand and customers. Delivers strong results through collaboration and technical expertise and focused guidance.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

Maintain and support Information Security policies and standards.
Coordinate and facilitate IT General Control activities with stakeholders (walkthroughs, narratives, testing, follow-up on open items, remediation efforts, and documentation updates, etc.).
Execute, maintain, and support the completion of IT General Controls.
May assist with the design of control test procedures and conduct random testing of controls to validate effectiveness.
Report on control status and results of effectiveness against key performance indicators.
Primarily contact and support for business areas on internal and external regulatory (e.g., OCC, NCUA, FINRA, State Regulatory, HHS, SEC,) requests.
Collaborate with all areas in a timely manner to collect artifacts in support of internal and external audits, exams, and assessments.
Use sound judgment to identify and assess risk coverage, materiality, adequacy of audit evidence, and the significance of findings.
Complete SOC1 and SOC 2 Type 2 reviews for vendors at stakeholder's request.
Understand and apply Thrivent Information Security Policies, standards, and controls to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability to Thrivent information and information systems.
Provide technical expertise for security controls aligned to security policies and standards.
Act as a change agent to continuously improve and move the organization forward.
Ability to work within a diverse team of skillsets and experience levels to deliver results.
