Element6 is currently seeking a

DevOps Engineer to help implement DevOps best practices and processes in our Banking industry clients' growing and evolving technical team! This is a new position on a technical team more recently established within the business to serve as technical advisors to the business and build technical solutions in-house with ownership over the technical environment for the first time in the company's storied history. We are looking for a passionate technologist seeking the opportunity to formally establish and cultivate DevOps as a discipline with the intention of growing a team around this person.

Due to Covid, this position

will start off as 100% remote (as is the rest of the technical team and the majority of the client's business personnel) and once it's safe to return to the office environment the DevOps Engineer can anticipate being onsite to work collaboratively with the team and internal business partners around 50% of the time, if not more if desired by the individual.

When it is safe to return, the team and business will be moving into their newly built corporate headquarters in Brookfield, WI. Anybody to be considered for this position must be able to reliably commute to that location regularly despite the position initially starting as Remote.

Responsibilities: You Will

• Participate in the Agile DevOps design, development, and testing, with a focus on release and post-production support
• Drive improvements to processes and design enhancements to automation to continuously improve the production environment
• Work within a team to plan, deploy, and maintain business application environments
• Influence other teams and broader Engineering groups in adopting Cloud technologies, processes, and best practices
• Define standard operating procedures and best practices
• Automate the provisioning of environments
• Create application deployment pipelines
• Technical Environment: AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes SUSE, MS Stack, and Linux.

Professional Qualification Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of professional experience in a hands-on technical capacity
• Strong grasp of automation and monitoring tools
• Ability to define and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging systems
• Demonstrated knowledge and aptitude with both legacy and modern stack technical environments

Required, desired, and helpful Technical Experience Qualifiers:

• Must have technical experience with, and deep knowledge of the following technologies: Kubernetes, Linux

• Must have at least 3 years of experience with Technical Delivery in a DevOps / Cloud Engineering environment

• Must have at least 2 years of experience in infrastructure design, implementation, and delivery

• Must have 2 or more years of programming experience with automation or development in MS Stack environment
• Technical Experience
  highly desired: Docker, Azure DevOps
• At least 2 years of experience in infrastructure design, implementation, and delivery
  highly desired
• Previous professional experience in hands-on Production Support within a Linux environment
  highly desired
• At least years of experience working with Agile Development Practices
  highly desired
• Exposure to of familiarity with HashiCorp products, SUSE, and Terraform
  major pluses
