business application developer.
The successful candidate for this position will take on application development and maintenance tasks and will design, build, test, and implement Java-based applications that keep our business operating smoothly and our insured customers delighted.

Who you are:

• You are an experienced java coder and have demonstrated success developing new and maintaining existing, internal business applications across a wide spectrum of functionalities and purposes. We use WebSphere tools and application servers and WebSphere experience is important to us.
• You have complete-lifecycle and full-stack development capabilities and you are comfortable working on a small team of three developers, and you are comfortable with a wide-ranging portfolio of requirements.
• Working across departments and with colleagues at all levels of a company are a significant portion of your background and your communication skills are polished and professional.
• You are a troubleshooter and you are an expert in seeking out answers and root causes to improve and correct all types of software errors.
• You are always seeking ways to eliminate existing defects, but also finding ways to avoid them by writing high-quality code; you are fully able to deploy and release code into test environments and working with testers throughout the process.

To be successful in this position:

• We strongly prefer a bachelor’s degree in a relevant technology field, but we will consider extensive relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• We use JSP, Spring MVC, Spring Batch, AngularJS, Eclipse IDE; DB2, iSeries, Apache and WebSphere and IBM application servers in our environment and you should have experience with a wide variety of these, and other tools.
• You must be able to work effectively on a small development team, which means you will have a broad set of assigned tasks (you will not be coding all day, every day), analysis and design will be a big part of the company’s needs for the successful candidate.
