Chippewa County is accepting applications for a 911 Telecommunicator position within the Sheriff’s Department. The job duties of the 911 Telecommunicator include but are not limited to: assist the public in receiving calls for service, inquiries and requests for assistance from Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services; dispatch personnel and equipment by radio to accidents, crimes, disturbances, etc.; answer telephone calls and requests for information from the public on laws, ordinances and various locations in the County; operate a Time Teletype system to check vehicle license plates, driver’s licenses, stolen autos and stolen items.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required. Previous emergency services dispatch experience, 911 training and previous experience working in a 24/7 environment are desired. Time System Certification is required within one (1) year of hire. CPR Certification and Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification are desired. A valid Driver’s License is required. Wage: $20.03 - $22.04 per hour depending on qualifications plus an excellent fringe benefit package. Position may be eligible for an annual pay increase based on performance. Maximum Wage: $27.55 per hour.
