Job Title: Body Shop Metal Technician
Department: Ken Vance Motors Body Shop
Hours/Week: Full Time
Reports To: Tom Day
Position available: Immediately
Purpose and Objective of Position
The Body Shop Metal Technician is responsible for repairing damaged bodies and body parts of vehicles. This position requires the ability to carefully and accurately, read work orders, to mend and fit auto body parts, as well as produce high quality craftsmanship.
Essential Job Functions
Acquires and maintains thorough knowledge of all equipment, supplies, and repairing processes.
Continues to develop additional technical skills as necessary to enable flexibility in work assignments.
Performs assigned vehicle repairs by following Dealership, manufacturer, ICAR repair procedures, including warranty work.
Completes any and all miscellaneous and small repairs or helps in other areas of production as needed.
Work toward avoiding comebacks.
Maintains a safe, clean, and well organized work area.
Must be able to come to work promptly and regularly.
Must be able to report to work in a timely and punctual manner.
Must be able to maintain good hygiene and be well groomed.
Must be able to adhere to appropriate dress code policy for each department.
Must be able to take direction and work well with others.
Must be able to concentrate and perform accurately.
Must be able to react to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
Is responsible and dependable.
Is hard working and enthusiastic; fosters these attributes in others.
Owns an inherent affinity towards automobiles and the brands we sell in particular.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required
Is well organized and thorough.
Good people and communication skills.
Ability to use various hand and power tools, welders, grinders, and frame machines.
Ability to read and understand manual/computerized data and measurements.
1year of previous experience as a Body Shop Tech. preferred
High School degree or equivalent
Valid driver’s license required with a driving record that will pass dealership insurability guidelines.
