The Paint Line Engineer will ensure that all mechanical components of the line are fully functioning at all times including conveyor lines, hooks, trolleys, paint lines, air lines, wash stations, paint guns, reclaim system, oven and dry off components. This position is required to do titrations and regular line inspection. The Paint Line Engineer is the sole source for all knowledge and data related to the line and ensuring all areas are operating at maximum potential.QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology or equivalent preferred. High school diploma required

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting – exposure to painting applications required

Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering specifications

Ability to read and understand measuring devices as required for equipment set up or production inspection

Available and willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as production demand and schedule dictates

Attention to detail and ability to check own work for completeness and accuracy

Must be able to work with minimal supervision

Must perform all duties in conjunction with UA and ISO requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Monitors the loading and unloading of parts to ensure correct hanging methods, line density calculations and unloading/stacking procedures are adhered to.

Trains all employees on proper processes and procedures including hanging methods, masking requirements, paint technique, parts check/verification and unloading.

Works directly with Operations Manager and Operations Supervisors to make line adjustments as needed – including staff placement, PM recommendations and equipment modifications.

Collaborates with quality staff to ensure product is meeting UA and customer specifications – makes adjustments as needed to ensure line continuity.

Responsible for all documentation, external and internal regarding continuous paint line – including but not limited to, PM schedules, titrations, zinc levels and wastewater treatments.

Builds relationships with UA vendors to ensure the most up to date training and equipment modifications are presented and implemented at UA

Ensures the line is being ran in accordance and in support of UA’s KPI metrics and drives for continuous improvement

Continuously challenges the status quo

Performs any and all duties as assigned
