This position is responsible for crafting and optimizing brand communications strategies to grow three core product lines – BOB-CAT, Ryan and Steiner. The Marketing Manager drives the development and execution of all the communications strategies; as such, he/she must have extensive experience successfully managing multiple brands across all primary marketing mediums and methods, including social media, PR, advertising, point of sale, web, mobile, events, etc. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise building brand equity and ensuring brand standards are enacted and adhered to throughout the organization.
The Marketing Manager will have intimate knowledge of modern and proven marketing tools including customer research, marketing automation, marketing channel/mix optimization, earned media & brand activation, and customer lifecycle management tools. He/She will be a proficient communicator and capable leader. He/She will be both a thinker and doer- willing to talk with customers, work alongside dealers and distributors, and be an active voice at executive meetings and to the Board. He/She will own the voice of the customer and will understand the different customer segments for each brand/product and communicate that to other departments. Most importantly the Marketing Manager will know how to craft a compelling vision, communicate it effectively to various stakeholders, and manage effective and efficient implementation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Develop and execute the Annual Marketing Plan for each of the three brands – BOB-CAT, Ryan and Steiner
Own the Voice of the Customer, working with Product Marketing to define the target customer for each brand and product line. Use marketing tools to define customer segments, their specific needs and their connection to the SGC brands
Set, manage and reconcile annual marketing budgets for all three brands
Develop a customer lifecycle marketing capability, managing customer dialogue post-purchase
Optimize and grow a marketing automation capability, improving the view of the customer and improving the direct-to-customer communication tactics
Partner with Sales Organization to build strategies and tactics to create successful programs with the Dealer network, as well as successful trade show and field marketing efforts
Partner with Product Management to understand product features and benefits, the correct target audience for each brand & product line, and to successfully launch new products into the marketplace
Manage outside agencies and vendors, ensuring they are stewards of the brands that are optimizing the ROI of marketing funds. Ensure their work is of the highest quality and is delivered on time and on budget
Keep the Executive Team informed of marketing and brand performance via reporting tools, dashboards, and executive updates. Proactively share relevant information up the organization to drive innovative thinking and new ideas
Oversee the Marketing Coordinator, as well as any other future marketing resources added to support the BOB-CAT, Ryan and Steiner brands
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED:
8-10 years’ experience in marketing and communications showing progression of skills and responsibility over time
BS/BA in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or other related field
Experience in consumer durables, preferably lawn & garden
Demonstrated knowledge and team leadership of digital marketing technologies and strategies including website development, mobile applications concepting, SEO, SEM, and content management
Experience in working with a broad cross-section of media/influencers with well-developed skills in building and extending media/influencer relationships
Up to speed on latest marketing strategies, tactics, tools, technology
Ability to forge solid relationships and manage across a broad and geographically-dispersed business
Organized and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated analytical, business planning and problem-solving skills
Ability to identify issues, requirements and opportunities for improvement
