Express Employment Professionals has partnered with a local La Crosse area business and we are searching to fill an exciting Accounting opportunity!

HIGHLIGHTS:

This position plays a pivotal role in the company and will be cross trained in a number of Accounting duties “ This is the perfect position for someone looking to utilize or learn diversified skill sets!

This position will work directly with the CFO/Director of Finance!

This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday-Friday 7:30 am to 5:00 pm!

The Accountant will assist with financial reporting and analysis, forecasting and the proper recording of financial results. This position provides direction and support to the rest of the accounting team as well as provides analytical support to senior management. The Accountant performs core accounting tasks such as journal entries, financial statement review, general ledger account reconciliations, monthly reporting, answering questions of stakeholders, and various project work. Knowledgeable of all work functions in the department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures.

Prepare monthly account reconciliations.

Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule.

Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis.

Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances.

Assist with budget preparation and forecast processes.

Lead financial and tax audits to ensure compliance.

Ensure compliance with collateral reporting requirements.

Complete schedules for auditors and government agencies including Sales and Use Tax returns.

Responsible for tax filings.

Ensure proper licensing, insurance, fuel tax compliance, and reporting on all vehicles.

Maintain fixed asset subsidiary ledgers and ensure compliance with company policy.

Assist in developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

Lead work efforts of account specialists and clerks as needed.

Support inventory cycle count program.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree in Accounting or 5-10 years relevant experience.

CPA or CMA preferred but not required

Manufacturing industry or building materials industry experience preferred but not required
