Job Summary: The Controls Quality Engineer within Unit Controls Engineering will be responsible for monitoring and improving the quality and reliability for control systems and components used on Trane CHVAC products.

Responsibilities:
  • A technical role to assist in the development, deployment, and execution of quality and reliability disciplines in product design and manufacturing processes to ensure product reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability.
  • Provide technical assistance in quality and reliability engineering disciplines to design and manufacturing engineers and suppliers to improve existing products.
  • Assist engineering teams to achieve warranty reduction and improve customer satisfaction by leading quality efforts on problem identification, failure root cause analysis, corrective action development and resolution verification.
  • Participate in product design and reliability reviews during new product development to ensure the robustness of product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Perform statistical data analysis and prediction, target setting, warranty trend analysis, and spending forecast for existing products.
  • Provide technical feedback to enhance the ongoing quality of products and services.
  • Provide monthly quality improvement status presentations to leadership.
  • Ability to meet short- and long-term deadlines.
  • Effectively meet the needs of internal and external customers.

Qualifications:
  • 4-Year Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering degree or similar electronics technical degree and experience.
  • Knowledge of electronic design and printed circuit board assembly.
  • Familiarity/experience with reliability testing techniques.
  • Good electrical and electronic skills with the ability to read schematics for both panel and board levels.
  • Excellent people skills and ability to work with multiple PGT's and suppliers.
  • Ability to communicate with others both written and orally. Mobility within the work facility. Keyboarding.
