Babcock Genetics, a worldwide leader in swine genetics, is looking for part-time weekend employees who are hard working, dependable, reliable, detail oriented, and comfortable working with livestock.
Purpose of Position:
While working as a team member of Babcock Genetics, to care for and provide to all ages of swine, from piglets to adult sows and boars, to ensure optimum living arrangements and productivity. This person will be trained in all areas of swine production so they can assist in any area to work with the animals. In addition to this, light facility repair and maintenance may be needed as it arises.
About this Job:
In this position, team members will be responsible for the care, health, and maintenance of all the animals and facility as well as provided the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all areas of swine production: vaccinations, animal movements, breeding/gestation, farrowing, finishing, and data management.
This position provides excellent training and potential opportunity for full-time employment.

Requirements:

Physical requirements include:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Climb over gates up to 48 inches in height
- Pushing, pulling, and kneeling
- Climb feed bins
Experience:
Previous livestock handling helpful but not required
Previous mechanical work helpful but not required
Education:
High school diploma or equivalency desired
Salary:
Hourly rate based on experience
