Job Summary

The Distribution Center Material Handler is responsible for verifying / receiving inbound and outbound loads, uses a pick list to identify needed product for orders and stages product loads in appropriate areas for loading and shipping.

This position is also responsible for maintaining facility aisles to keep them clean and orderly.

Essential Job Duties

Verifies inbound loads.

Receives inbound loads using correct forms and documents.

Moves product to appropriate locations in the distribution center after checking with shift lead.

Verifies staged loads prior to shipping.

Completes appropriate documents for shipping.

Verifies all outbound loads with shift lead.

Comprehends pick lists to identify and select needed product for orders.

Picks orders and stages in appropriate staging areas for shipment.

Cleans, faces off pallets, and sweeps bays daily.

Leads, supervisors or managers to sign off on aisle each week.

May perform other duties as required.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Knowledgeable of Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and Safety Regulations.

Interpersonal and team skills for working with employees at all levels within the company and with external contacts.

Effective basic math skills.

Effective basic computer skills.

Ability to tolerate fluctuating temperatures in a loud noise production / warehouse environment.

Ability to work on multiple tasks while meeting tight deadlines.

Operate a forklift and scissor lift and maintain forklift certification.

Ability to work in a safe manner in an environment with hazard / safety risks.

Ability to perform tasks independently and as part of a team to accomplish department goals.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma; a minimum of 1 year previous warehouse or related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
