Position: Summer Camp Float Teacher & Camp Woodland Assistant Teacher (3-6 classroom)

Pay: Base wage $13.01 + related education and experience

Shift/Work Days: Float Teacher: Monday - Friday Availability 7:15A - 5:45P |30 - 40 hours a week

Shift/Work Days: Assistant Teacher: Monday - Friday Availability |20 - 30 hours a week

Classroom Age Groups: 3 “ 6 year olds (Camp Woodland) | 6 - 9 year olds (Elder Camp)

Woodland Montessori School is seeking additional Teacher(s) for our Summer Camp program. We are searching for individuals who are enthusiastic and passionate about early childhood development and Outdoor Education. We currently have multiple open Teaching positions that range from 30-40 hours a week. Actual daily hours (shift) will be discussed at interview. Description: The (Assistant) Teacher is responsible for implementing program activities as part of a teaching team, providing help to the Lead Teacher in all areas of the classroom program, the care and education of a group of afterschool children as part of a teaching team. The Lead After-School Teacher is responsible for preparing specific materials for the afterschool program, insuring the classroom compliments and supports Montessori philosophy, planning a schedule supportive of the afterschool children, working with parents, and addressing the needs of individual children. This includes, but is not limited to, carrying out Montessori Philosophy, supervising children, communicating with parents, and providing a healthy and safe environment for children.

Description: The Float Teacher is responsible for covering the scheduled or emergency absences of the WMS staff pool. This includes, but is not limited to, carrying out Montessori philosophy, supervising children, communicating with parents, and providing a healthy and safe environment for children when covering a shift at the Preschool and/or Toddler House. Individual must be available Monday-Friday from 7:15A-5:30P

Minimum Requirements: We prefer, but not require, a BA or BS degree in education, Students currently enrolled in Education related programing, an AMS or AMI Montessori credential, Wisconsin Registry credential, a DPI Early Childhood or Kindergarten license, lead teaching experience, excitement, a "Can Do" attitude, a team player mentality, a good time manager, and someone with the ability to develop exceptional relationships with parents and co-workers. The ideal person has interest and knowledge of the Montessori philosophy, State/City required courses to work with children and State licensing required courses to be alone with children. Must be able to pass a Wisconsin caregiver background check, which includes WI Fingerprint submission.

Physical demands:

Must be able to perform all reasonable Teacher physical demands

Must be able to lift and carry an individual weighing 50 lbs

Must be able stand for periods greater than 6 hours

Must be able to walk up and down stairs continuously

Must be able to turn, squat, kneel, crouch, and bendover without issue

Must be able to work all contracted daily hours uninterrupted (besides designated break)

Must be able to work all weekly contracted hours
