But we're also a great place to work!General Summary: The Director of Asset Protection develops long- and short-term business strategies (3-5 years) and oversees implementation of safety and security initiatives across the organization. In addition, this role manages Goodwill’s Corporate Compliance Plan to assure that there are policies, procedures, audits, prevention strategies, training and reporting systems in place designed to prevent and detect illegal or unethical activity, fraud, waste, and abuse. The Director cultivates standard operating procedures, forecasts and plans annual operating and capital budget, and implements cost-savings measures. Also maintains and adjusts operating budget, manages expenses based on changes in internal or external factors, and communicates budgetary performance. This role is responsible for integration of systems, systems metrics, and analysis. Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Act as Goodwill South Central Wisconsin’s Corporate Compliance Officer. Responsible for fulfilling all duties associated with CCO role, overseeing and managing regulatory compliance issues within our organization.

Responsible for the hiring, training, talent planning and development of AP team.

Serves as project owner for high complexity cross functional or multi-location projects and improvement initiatives. Set project direction including project scope, timeline, and resources. Accountable for making decisions and project success. Manages change through effective planning, communication, and coaching. Builds and participates in leadership coalition supporting and implementing organizational change.

Actively engages with community partners and links activities to business performance.

Develops and implements asset protection business plans for all areas of the organization to prevent and detect internal and external theft. Continually benchmarks with other retail organizations and government agencies for new strategies to improve our processes, procedures, and investigation techniques.

Negotiate agreements, coordinate contracts, and approve invoices for review by the VP of Operations

Lead the analysis of investigative data and exception reports to prepare strategies, policies, and procedures for Executive Leaders designed to mitigate potential risk.

Maintain and develop enterprise best practices, standards, processes, and technology solutions for brand protection and ensuring agile deployment, consistent execution, and compliance across the organization.

Identify and understand risks and vulnerabilities across Goodwill’s supply chains, including ecommerce, and recommends effective mitigations/controls for all areas of the organization.

Work with business partners to ensure all aspects of required loss prevention, security, and safety processes and procedures are integrated into the daily operations at each location.

Provide leadership to the asset protection department to implement appropriate measures to assure protection of assets while meeting internal and external customer needs.

Provide leadership and oversight of all corporate safety and compliance policies, procedures, and goals.

Responsible for on-going continuous improvement of process through lean principles within Goodwill.

Provide clear and ethical direction to all employees to build Goodwill’s brand within the community and enhance its public image.

Provide leadership and direction to all locations and identified vendors, providing timely, efficient, and cost-effective services.

Review adherence to company asset protection and safety policies and procedures through analysis and focus on continuous improvement providing direction and training to ensure opportunities are identified and corrected.

Provide information and counsel concerning compliance to Executive leadership to support strategic development and improvements in growth and effectiveness of the organization.

Partners with Directors to ensure timeliness and accuracy of all required organizational compliance reporting and audits.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Loss Prevention or related field

Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a multi-location organization or equivalent.

Human Resources experience that includes knowledge of local, state, and federal HR Law.

Knowledge of principles and practices associated with fraud, waste and abuse and codes of conduct including codes of ethics

Knowledge of retail/supply chain and warehousing security and program development principles, techniques, and managerial skills.

LP Qualified/LP Certified or CFE certification preferred.

Experience with Wicklander – Zulawksi or equivalent criminal interview course.

Ability to make independent decisions

Ability navigate and build partnerships with key leadership across multiple divisions and departments throughout a large organization
