Our client, Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS), is looking for a Project Manager.
This position is responsible for helping the executive leadership team develop departmental strategy and then help to define strategic initiatives from that strategy. This person should have exceptional communication skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence (EQ) in order effectively work with a broad spectrum of business leaders. This is a business focused project manager position and not a technical position.
Must be able to facilitate business group discussions in a professional manner in a decision-making environment. Responsible for assembling and managing working teams that are business focused. Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers. Assists and partners with senior management of the business community to identify and prioritize opportunities that achieve the goals of the enterprise.
This is a senior role that has responsibility for large initiatives with great impact to the enterprise.

Ideal candidates for this position will be required to have experience in one or (preferably) more of the following areas:
  • Strategy Development at the Organizational Level
  • Development of Strategic Initiatives
  • Executive Level Meeting Facilitation
  • Business Process Reengineering
  • Organizational Change Management
  • Continuous Process Improvement
  • Program Management

Note: The work location will be remote, but the candidate must conduct the work in Wisconsin. When we are back in the office, the candidate will work onsite at DHS offices in Madison, WI.

Contract: 3 years

Skills Required:
  • Ability and willingness to understand and execute the department’s project management methodology.
  • 7 years Management of large projects
  • 7 year Understanding of project management methodologies
  • 5 years Ability to communicate effectively with both executive leadership, peers, and application
  • Ability to meet project deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field, or equivalent work experience. (include on resume)
  • 7 years Manage multiple, concurrent projects, activities and tasks under time constraints
  • 7 years Project Manager capabilities. Capable of managing a project with up to ten (10) or more staff and/or a project with multiple sub-projects
  • Strong organization skills to effectively manage/oversee the multiple projects, activities and tasks the occur simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently with direction given by the Project Manager.
  • Capable of managing a project or subset of a project with up to ten (10) staff.
  • 7 years Experience in the use of Project Management tools. Experience using MS Project, or other standard project management software, is a plus but not required.
  • 7 years Strong project management skills

Skills Desired – A plus to have:
  • Change management expertise demonstrating strong leadership and vision Select Years
  • 3 years Organizational Development specific to communicating large-scale change efforts
  • 3 years Experience in organizational Change Management process design and execution.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Candidates must be located in Wisconsin, even while remote during COVID
