At the Division of Information Technology (DoIT), we move the University of Wisconsin-Madison forward through technology solutions designed to serve the university’s 24,000 faculty and staff and 45,000 students. We are looking for a
User Services Director who will lead a large team of customer-focused technical professionals. DoIT provides core infrastructure and enterprise services to the university, with the US department directly managing over 10K endpoints and providing desktop support for over 6K endpoints. US works closely with, and serves, distributed IT teams across campus to provide client-centered services to support the academic, administrative, and research needs of the campus. These services include a large and complex help desk, knowledge management support, endpoint management, desktop support, software licensing, and management of Software as a Service (SaaS) applications such as Office 365, Google Workspace for Education, and Zoom that enable and enhance collaboration and communication among the UW–Madison campus community. The IT director for User Services also leads major initiatives with a collaborative and innovative mindset, balancing a variety of perspectives with specific needs. Your management and leadership experience solving large scale tech challenges will be put to good use leading nearly 200 IT professionals and student employees in User Services within our diverse and distributed IT campus community.
