RED is seeking a passionate and organized individual to join our management team as a Catering and Event Manager!

The Event Manager contributes to the success of the restaurant by attracting and retaining events on and off-site, while working with the staff to provide amazing guest satisfaction. This position is perfect for an individual who has a passion for the service industry and is looking to be hands-on in a restaurant setting.

Summary of Job Duties:

The Event Manager acts as the main point of contact for all matters related to events and catering. The Event Manager is responsible for the booking, staffing and complete execution of all on and off-site events, and fully executing all catering orders and deliveries.

On and Off-Site Events:

Participating in the development of restaurant event sales and marketing strategies.

Achieving goals by developing and implementing sales techniques.

Maintaining and fostering current client base for RED while soliciting new business through prospecting or cold calls.

Arranging event while following all company and safety standards.

Generating an agreement and budget with the client.

Accurately developing and writing catering proposals and contracts using Gather software.

Communicating all space and vendor progress with the client.

Communicating any problems that arise in an upfront manner with the client.

Maintaining communication with any outside vendors contracted for the event.

Assisting with selection, training, and development of staff to work catered events.

Effectively staffing all catering events.

Interacting with, directing and supervising staff working catered events in a fair and dignified manner.

Ensuring smooth and efficient service for all events.

Reporting directly to GM regarding event execution, off-menu/brand event, and all final event details.

Catering and Delivery:

Understanding all catering menus including substitutions and new menu items.

Answering questions regarding menus and availability of dates for potential catering customers.

Becoming proficient in servicing catering calls within the restaurant-specific standards and policies.

Utilizing salesmanship techniques by up-selling food, liquor, service, etc.

Comprehending the kitchens catering systems including menu distribution, assembly of orders and delivery.

Flexibility to deliver catering orders as needed.

Attending weekly manager meetings and communicating all pertinent information to appropriate personnel about upcoming events, catering orders and deliveries.

Demonstrating a professional attitude in all interactions with restaurant guests, clients and staff “ both face to face discussions and over the telephone.

Creating 100% guest satisfaction by providing the RED experience through performance that demonstrates the standards of, genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations.

Qualities and Abilities:

Excellent written skills including experience writing marketing or public relations text.

Strong interpersonal skills including experience building and maintaining relationships with a diverse network of individuals and organizations.

Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

Time management skills and ability to prioritize a large volume of tasks.

Self-motivation, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn.

Prior experience in the service industry including serving and supervisory experience.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with all areas of the RED Team in both the Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH).

Be ready and willing to step in to assist any member of the service team as might be required.

Be dependable, reliable, and have a great sense of urgency.

Love food, service itself, and be constantly willing to learn.

Qualifications and Experience

3+ years of event management or related experience required.

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Bachelors degree preferred.

Must have reliable transportation and vehicle insurance.

Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work a variety of hours including days, nights, and weekends.

Bilingual in Spanish speaking is a plus!
