As an Insulation Technicians at Duerst Insulation, you will install insulation in residential and commercial buildings. Our team meets at the workshop every morning and travels in company trucks to the job sites. We will train you into this fast-growing field, though some construction-industry experience is required (please see our Technician Assistant post if you are interested but have not construction experience).
The buildings we work on often rotates daily, so we value problem solving and the ability to regularly apply fundamental concepts into new scenarios. This job requires problem solving and lateral thinking, so you’ll be building skills in a growing field that can’t be automated (you will be trained in a high-demand, “robot-proof,” career-building skill set). We have opportunities for advancements into career-track positions for those interested and doing well.
Required:
1+ years in the construction field: carpentry, roofing, concrete, electrical, HVAC, painting, plumbing, etc.
This is a physical job and you should be good with working on ladders, occasional tight spaces, wearing a respirator, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
Able to work quickly and maintain high quality work with minimal oversight.
A positive and hard-working attitude.
Desire to have a positive impact in a company, learn, and improve.
Preferred:
Experience with spray foam, cellulose, and/or fiberglass insulation; experience with spray guns (such as for painting) also a plus.
Mechanically inclined; able solve simple equipment issues in the field.
Experience with maintenance work (e.g. drywall repair, concrete repair, etc.)
