Position to begin Aug 12, 2019

Available Hours: (approximately 35 hours per week year round)

Mon-Fri 10:45-5:45 pm year round

Responsibilities include:

Annually: Complete 25 hours of continuing education per year following licensing guidelines.

Monthly: Inventory supplies (cleaning, paper goods, hand soaps, and craft needs) and keep the storage cabinets/supply room organized. Assist in implementing and recording monthly fire and tornado drills. Attend staff meetings.

Weekly: Provide support to staff, substitutes, volunteers, and families. Walk through the outdoor areas of center making sure all areas are tidy and no safety hazards/licensing violations are found. Assist with copying, project prep needs, signs, notes home, etc. Disinfect cots/mats

Daily: Prepare center for closing. Make sure all families, employees, and subs have signed in and out appropriately on the childcare attendance log. Assist the AM Float/office assistant in prepping, serving, and cleaning up from the afternoon snack. Prep cots/mats for nap time, stack/hang cots/mats after naptime.

As needed: Cover childcare teacher breaks and team meetings. Assist childcare teachers in time off requests.

Benefits: Center provides 10 hours of continuing education, 5 paid personal days (after successful completion of 90 working day probationary period) and 5 days of paid vacation and contribute towards retirement fund after 1 year of employment.

Rate of Pay: $11 to $14/hour based on qualifications, experience and budgetary constraints

Reports to: Director

Qualifications: Must be a minimum age of 21 with a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have worked a minimum of 80 hours of full time or 120 days of half time working in a childcare setting. Must hold or be willing to get trainings consisting of current CPR certification, Shaken Baby, SIDS, and 2 non-credit courses or 2 courses for credit in early childhood education, 1 non-credit or credit course in childcare administration. Must have a Current Registry certificate, be able to complete a health physical with TB test and pass a Criminal History Records Investigation (with fingerprints).

Possess a willingness to work in a Faith-based center, follow all center policies, and to be a team player. Must have respect, empathy, and sincerity when it comes to working with children, parents, and other staff members.
