Pantheon Industries has a rewarding opportunity for you to provide transportation to and from a vocational training center for individuals with disabilities who seek experience in meaningful employment.

POSITION: Transportation Assistant, providing morning and afternoon van transportation as an important team member working in direct support of individuals with disabilities to achieve their full potential through a variety of vocational training opportunities in adaptive work settings.

HOURS: Part-time, 1st shift hours from 7a to 10a and 1p to 3:30p, Monday Friday

Some Part-time or Sub/Fill-in options as Vocational Assistants may also be available.

REQUIREMENTS:

A high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, ability to pass a background check, pre-employment physical and a drug screen

Ability to use good judgement, demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, learn adaptive communication methods, and make quick decisions in a fast paced environment

Ability to do repetitive lifting of 25lbs, occasional lifting/moving of 50lbs and ability to assist individuals in transfers; Bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, lifting, walking, running, standing and bi-lateral manual dexterity necessary to perform essential job tasks.

DESIRED PRIOR EXPERIENCE: Experience supporting individuals with special needs, personal care work or with a healthcare, education or human service organization helpful but not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES: (include but are not limited to:)

Provide safe, timely and responsible transportation of client-employees in agency vehicles from there homes to the vocational training center and back, in Waukesha County and greater area.

Provide safety supervision and support to help individuals reach person-centered goals and learn pedestrian and passenger safety.

With Training: Assist with ambulation challenges as needed; administration of medication or medical procedures such as epi-pens, seizure interventions; and provide compassionate, individualized support during emotional or behavioral challenges

Other potential added responsibilities could include:

Provide product delivery in agency vehicles.

Provide Routine Cleaning, maintenance, and organization of the vehicles and/or Work Center to provide a clean and safe learning environment. Follow and role-model all safety policies and procedures

Provide Work Center Supervision, training & job support to help individuals reach person-centered goals and learn job tasks related to fulfillment, packaging, assembly, mailings, quality assurance, and more. Complete production area set-up, quality assurance and shipping and handling. Create and use adapted tools to assist individuals in completing tasks.

Support individuals in reaching their Individual Service Plan goals. Document and review individuals' progress and aid in planning for future goals to increase independence. Record daily attendance, achievements and challenges with assigned client-employees. Teach & role model work place soft skills such as problem solving, professional communication, positive work attitude, reliability, self-advocacy and more.

Facilitate Group Activities in areas of community employment, soft skills, workplace safety, health & well-being, money management; also executing community preparation experiences such as greenhouse work, retail work, recycling and more.
