As Assistant Director IPS Communications you are a key member of the Investment Products and Services (IPS) communications team, and are responsible for delivering integrated strategic communications for the Investment Products and Services (IPS) business.You will work closely with partners from the IPS business and other areas of the company to achieve highly aligned IPS communications in support of business objectives. Ideally, you will be knowledgeable in the wealth management industry, working cross-functionally, and have a demonstrated record of success building and delivering on strategic communications plans. Being proactive, remaining flexible, and balancing both short-term and long-term needs are your strengths.You'll drive proactive, rapid response to time-sensitive issues and work across teams to ensure message priority and alignment for various levels of home office, field, and client audiences. You'll work consistently to ensure alignment with the company's strategy narrative and demonstrate the critical role of investments as part of the company's overall approach to help clients achieve financial security. What this role needs: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or other relevant field, plus seven years of broad business experience in corporate, agency or investment industry specific communications. Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver integrated communication strategies, influence ideas and craft into concise, clear messages. Expert business and journalistic writing skills, and ability to adapt content to suit various audiences. Ability to manage multiple priorities, make decisions in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment and anticipate future needs. Ability to speak clearly and express self well in groups and in one-to-one conversations, and through concise and clear presentations. High degree of motivation and confidence in conducting self with individuals and groups at all levels. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Desirable Requirements: Thorough understanding of the Northwestern Mutual distribution system to include home office and the field force preferred. Understanding of FINRA and SEC compliance and regulations for the financial services industry. This job is not covered by the existing Collective Bargaining Agreement.
