As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for the analysis of submitted file for Capacity, Capital, Character, Collateral, and Condition. This includes ensuring that loan request meets program and product specifications or counter-offer to different product and/or program when appropriate. In addition, you will communicate decision (approval, suspense, denial) to appropriate individuals within JPMorgan Chase, uphold fair lending practices of JPMorgan Chase Mortgage, meet targets for productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction, and perform second review of contract underwritten denials.Internal DescriptionChase is seeking experienced Mortgage Underwriters with lending authority for permanent Underwriting roles. As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for the analysis of submitted file for Capacity, Capital, Character, Collateral, and Condition. This includes ensuring that loan request meets program and product specifications or counter-offer to different product and/or program when appropriate. In addition, you will communicate decision (approval, suspense, denial) to appropriate individuals within JPMorgan Chase, uphold fair lending practices of JPMorgan Chase Mortgage, meet targets for productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction, and perform second review of contract underwritten denials.

Minimum of three years experience as an underwriter

Minimum of five years in the mortgage lending business

Excellent analytical and decision making skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to communicate well in difficult situations

Strong negotiation skills

Thorough knowledge of complex personal and business financial analysis and is proficient at cash flow and Adjusted Growth Income (AGI) self-employed income analysis and corporate tax returns.

Minimum of three year experience in underwriting first and/or second mortgages.

Current lending authority

Demonstrated experience in underwriting both manually and through the use of automated underwriting systems.

Thorough knowledge of Mortgage Insurance policies
