We're VeganEssentials.com, an online store specializing in natural products and food since 1997. We're a small, family-run business looking for a part-time order packer (approximately 30 hours per week with possibility of full time with the right person) that is the perfect fit for our tight-knit team. The hours would be:
Tuesday: 7am to 3pm
Wednesday: 7am to 3pm
Thursday: 7am to 2pm
Friday: 7am to 12pm
(Note: Hours have the possibility to be somewhat flexible after training)
What You Would Do:
- Pick and pack orders, most of which are perishable and contain refrigerated and frozen items.
- Unpack and stock incoming deliveries, many of which need to be in a walk-in freezer.
- Stock and rotate shelves
- Stock cold packs (we sell frozen & refrigerated goods) and shipping containers as needed
- Put shipping labels on boxes
- Put boxes on carts and pallets for pick up
- Order adjustments and customer calls as needed
- Other various duties as assigned
What Qualifications Do You Need:
- Highly energetic, motivated self-starter that can work well with a mostly female team
- Great time management and organizational skills
- MUST love fast-paced environments
- Great attention to detail (most orders contain between 5-15 items. You must be able to read line items carefully and thoroughly)
- MUST have exceptional reading comprehension. We DO NOT have a scanner system, so you will have to read the items as you pick them. Many items are imported and have foreign names that are not easily recognizable.
- Ability to be on your feet for most of the day
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and to lift 20 lbs repeatedly
- MUST be able to handle frozen items on a regular basis
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Interest in natural & vegetarian products a HUGE plus
- Punctual and consistent attendance MANDATORY. Do not apply if you have attendance issues!
- Must have reliable transportation

- Very competitive salary with a performance-based $.50 increase after 90 days
- Up to a $500 bonus after one year if all performance requirements are met
