We are looking for an application developer to work with business units and analysts to identify and understand business problems and goals and design, implement, and support the solutions to those goals. This position entails operational support for our legacy systems as well as new development.

• Support deployed software by investigating issues and rolling out needed patches
• Support the team in tier 2 weekly on-call rotation
• Develop high quality, secure, scalable & maintainable software, abiding by coding standards
• Review code with other developers to share project and technical knowledge
• Deploy projects within build and deploy pipeline, includes transitioning first line support to IT Ops team
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, and QA testers to plan and execute in a high-energy Agile environment
• Participate in technical planning, determine tasks associated with project assignments, estimates and dependencies
• Work with Solution Architecture to design software solutions that supports the Mortgage Insurance life cycle
• Update and modernize code to the latest supported versions to ensure security, stability, and support
• Effectively communicate project status and deliveries to team and management

Do you have what it takes?

Experience:

• Proficient experience using COBOL
• Experience with Agile methodology using Scrum, Kanban or similar
• Working knowledge of Mainframe COBOL, DB2, Oracle & JCL
• Strong communication and collaboration skills (upward, lateral and downward)
• Eye on continuous improvement
• Experience with Service Now ticketing, a plus
• Experience with JIRA, a plus
