Fast growing Trucking Company needing a Transportation and Logistics Dispatcher with great negotiating, sales, and multi-tasking skills. This is a position which requires experience in booking loads, dispatching for multiple fleet vehicles and must have EXCELLENT negotiating skills. You must be comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment and have experience with boards. The successful candidate for this position must be a team player, able to adapt quickly, communicate well with brokers and drivers, and display effective critical thinking skills. Hours of operation are MON - FRI 7:30 am - 4:30 pm
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Looks for freight/finding loads using existing customers, and load boards
Dispatches drivers with loads and coordinates for timely and safe delivery.
Negotiates the best rates
Provides customers timely location of shipments
Establishes and operates a plan of communication with drivers while in route. minimize or eliminate delays.
Answer and disseminates calls in a courteous, professional and timely manner.
Informs coordinators about status of shipments, problems, delays and unfilled customer requests.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SATISFACTORY JOB PERFORMANCE
General Job Duties:
Professional and courteous attitude when dealing with drivers, brokers and shippers/receivers
Positive customer service skills
Excellent Problem-Solving Skills
Familiar with OTR transportation, and driver requirements
Prior experience as Dispatcher in Transportation Industry
Computer literate
Negotiation skills
Ability to work individually and as a part of a team
Fluent in English
Booking Freight and developing relationships with brokers and customers
Staying up to date on freight trends
Knowing backhaul/headhaul markets and the relevant pricing
Soliciting new shippers to gain direct freight
Checking broker credit worthiness to ensure a prompt payment history
Pre-planning your assigned drivers
Providing driver updates to the customers
