Sand Valley is the latest golf venture to be developed by the Keiser family under the umbrella of Dream Golf Resorts. Much like the other Keiser properties Bandon Dunes and Cabot Links, Sand Valley is a high-profile, one-of-a-kind destination on its way to becoming one of the most notable golf locations in America.



Located in central Wisconsin, 90 minutes north of Madison in the town of Rome, Sand Valley is situated among 1.75 million acres of prehistoric lake bottom in the sand barren region of the state. The development currently covers 9000 acres of previously wooded timber land, which is being resorted to its natural dunes land state. Sand Valley opened its first course and 50 overnight rooms in 2017, followed by the opening of the second golf course in 2018, Mammoth Dunes by David Kidd, and the Sandbox, a 17-hole short course by Coore & Crenshaw. In addition to three award winning golf courses, the resort entails: 118 rooms of over-night accommodations, two intimate housing developments, food and beverage outlets, an indoor fitness center, hiking trails, grass tennis courts and other outdoor activities.

Position Summary:

The Marketing & Communications Manager will be responsible for the marketing and communications of Sand Valley. Duties include public relations, facility social media, customer communication, advertising and marketing initiatives. This position will also be responsible for managing all in-house events, video and photography assets and website content.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage PGA and Golf industry events and relations


Manage the Sand Valley marketing budget and marketing activities. Assist with developing annual marketing plan and budget.


Monitor marketing spend and suggest alternative spending that drives revenues or brand awareness.


Interface with Dream Golf Brand and Dreams golf property leaders for seamless marketing efficiencies.


Lead annual Dream Golf Magazine creation and distribution


Serve as liaison with local organizations such as Visit Rome, Travel WI and local Chamber of Commerce


Plan and execute all marketing efforts at Sand Valley, including:


Public relations


Social media


Conventional media


Events (internal and external)


Advertising


Digital advertising


Design, build and maintain Sand Valley’s social media presence which includes but is not limited to updating Sand Valley’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube accounts.


Oversee website content.


Oversee and provide a strong presence in the 4th course branding, including launch plan and logo creation and implementation.


Coordinate and facilitate tours on all courses at Sand Valley with strong presence to launch 4th course.


Serve as primary spokesperson and on-site contact for all media.


Work closely with the Resort Marketing Committee on all marketing activities. Work with KemperSports on all PR activities.


Work with the team and assist with managing outside agencies to develop creatives and negotiate marketing spend with key publications and vendors


Oversee brand/storytelling style and voice to social platforms creating shareable content that remains true to the brand.


Create Email blast design and placement for communicating with our guests and future guests while promoting Sand Valley. Oversee the design of loyalty communications and placement.


Generate creative ideas that will shed positive light on the Resort and drive incremental revenue.


Manage digital assets including all high-quality images and video of Sand Valley.


Create, manage and book all in house events such as; The Summer Solstice, SV Cup and Heathland Cup.


Assist the Founders Concierge with coordinating, booking, executing the Founders Day event.


Support the Reservations and Group Sales Departments as needed.


Perform other duties as appropriate.



Qualifications:

College degree required, ideally in Marketing and/or Communications


5+ years of Industry experience in destination golf with PGA background or relative destination golf resort experience.


Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and Google Docs.


Ability to learn and use Agylisis property management/reservations software and other resort systems including Mailchip, Squarespace and google analytics.


Demonstrated mathematical ability, understand the use of business analytics


Quality written and verbal communication skills


Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision


Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance


Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed
