JOB REQUIREMENTS: Our client is growing and they need to add a Supplier Quality Engineer to their staff.You will travel about 25% of the time to work with suppliers. This is an excellent organization that offers solid career advancement opportunities. You will report to the Director of Procurement. What you will be doing: As a Supplier Quality Engineer you will be responsible for assessing, qualifying, and developing suppliers and manufacturing services providers. You will evaluate and audit suppliers' systems, processes, standards, products, components, and applications against technical, quality, environmental and safety requirements. OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Two to five years' experience working in manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, or ina quality management role. Category expertise in raw castings, steel, machining, and gears is necessary. In-depth knowledge of quality systems and methods, supply chain and manufacturing processes, continuous improvement concepts, supplier audits, Lean or Six Sigma programs and Statistical Process Control. Experience with ISO certification and survey societies. Cross-functional work experience in major areas such as Sales, Finance, Engineering, Procurement, Quality or Operations is helpful.
