Forklift Mechanic (Gurnee/Lake County, IL)
Under direct supervision of Service Manager, the technician is responsible for performing periodic maintenance, repairs, replacement and troubleshooting on various makes and models of material handling equipment as well as completing any/all paperwork involved.
Ability to read/understand elecrical and hydraulic schematics.
Abiltiy to repair or replace major system components (circuit boards/electrical parts, hydraulic, mechanical, fuel, engines, power steering, transmissions) with minimal supervision.
Troubleshoot/diagnose most truck components.
Diagnose and repair complex electrical systems on IC and electric trucks.
Perform engine tune-ups on most makes without supervision.
Perform PM's in a timely manner.
Ability to use required specialty tools properly.
Identify and ordering of required parts/materials.
Assist with training/mentoring of apprentices through on-the-job training.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Tech is required to follow all safety rules and regulations, proper use and storage of personal and company tools and equipment, maintain cleanliness of tools/equipment/shop and company vehicles.
Tech must possess and maintain a valid driver's license at all times.
High school diploma or GED preferred
