About the team:
The Tax Accountant is required to prepare all tax information reporting forms to ensure FIS Tax Outsourcing Solutions, and its clients, are in compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements. This position is expected to analyze and resolve all questions and issues associated with these forms, and review account information to ensure proper tax reporting.
Candidate should be detail-oriented, possess good analytical and problem solving skills, and be able to manage workloads and deadlines. Mandatory overtime is required from January 2nd through April 15th.
What you will be doing:
• Preparation of tax information forms including IRS Form 1099 series.
• Transaction reporting for Master Limited Partnership holders to our vendor.
• Out of State Municipal Income reporting to state taxing authorities.
• Backup and Foreign Withholding calculations.
• Transaction and data modification in OneSource Trust Tax software.
• Calculate tax cost adjustments, such as Return of Capital and Wash Sales.
• Monitor and execute amortization and accretion modelling processes
• Demonstrate proficiency in OneSource Trust Tax and FIS TrustDesk Accounting System.
• Provide timely and accurate customer service to clients.
• Work with internal trust operations to identify, correct, and improve operational processes impacting tax preparation and reporting.
• Investigate and reconcile discrepancies.
• Anticipates potential tax filing conflicts and resolves before returns are filed, i.e., acquisitions, fixed purchase option leases, etc.
• Monitors internal reporting software database for integrity and maintenance.
• Other related duties assigned as needed
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or other job related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
What you bring:
Minimum three years of experience in trust operations or a similar setting.
• Basic to intermediate understanding of various types of assets, income, and cost adjustments.
• Communicates ideas both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise and professional manner
• Ability to analyze and solve problems using learned techniques and tool
