The Food & Beverage Supervisor is a key member of the Hilton Garden Inn Wausau team, reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager and overseeing the hotels breakfast operations and daytime conference operations, including breakfast and lunch. This position ensures an outstanding guest experience for hotel guests and conference goers with typical base hours from 6 a.m. “ 2 p.m.

Responsibilities

Oversees food and beverage operations for all daytime activities, including hotel breakfast as well as breakfast and lunch conference and/or banquet catering.

Provides supervisory oversight and schedule coordination for hotel breakfast and daytime conference servers. Collaborates with the Event Coordination staff to ensure adequate staff coverage.

Works with F&B Manager to interview, hire, train and evaluate staff, ensuring all staff are adequately trained and have the support necessary to reach their full potential.

Supports the F&B Manager at every turn, proactively seeking out opportunities to add value and generating ideas for strengthening our operations. This includes working with the F&B Manager to analyze how sales, revenue and performance are tracking with departmental goals in the spirit of continuous improvement.

Conducts F&B inventory and ensures all supplies are adequately stocked for maximum efficiency.

Evaluates F&B service levels regularly, suggests strategies to improve areas of concern and implements approved strategies.

Provides relevant feedback to the Food & Beverage Manager, Lead Conference Cook, Executive Chef and Event Coordination staff regarding any aspect of our breakfast and conferencing.

Analyzes and controls daytime costs according to the established budget, schedule and payroll.

Ensures that department adheres to all health, hygiene and safety policies.

Coordinates with kitchen staff to ensure that all appliances and cooking equipment are properly used and maintained, reporting the need for any repairs.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.

Minimum two years of supervisory experience. Food and beverage and hotel experience are a plus.

Have or obtain nationally recognized food sanitation certification, such as ServSafe or TIPS.

Ability to work an early morning schedule on a regular basis, including weekends, beginning at 6 a.m. with the flexibility to cover later shifts as needed to support the F&B team.

Technology proficient, with the ability to learn and efficiently operate a MICROS point of sale system, Microsoft Office and email communication.

Ability to push, pull, carry and lift 50 pounds on a regular basis throughout the shift. Moving supplies, equipment and furniture, frequent walking, standing, bending and stair climbing are also regular requirements of the job.
