TITLE: Marketing & Communications Assistant

DEPARTMENT: Development

REPORTS TO: Director of Development

JOB SUMMARY:

The Marketing & Communications Assistant works under the direction and oversight of the Director of Development and provides department and Club support in implementing marketing and development strategies while effectively addressing constituencies such as: board members, parents, youth, partner agencies, donors, volunteers, media and others as appropriate. The Resource Development Assistant provides support in the areas of: writing and research for foundation and corporate grant requests and acknowledgement of donor gifts, planning and implementation of special events, and producing creative assets that promote brand awareness while positioning BGCCW as the leading youth development agency in Wyoming.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Marketing

  • Design and produce materials, as assigned, to create a cohesive image and message for all print and online communication vehicles, including, but not limited to the following: e-newsletter; flyers; Club guide; annual report; various fundraising and donor and volunteer relations materials; event invitations; sponsorship packets; press kits; social media; and print and electronic media ads.
  • Assist in execution of branding campaigns, including design and printing. Ensure that all materials are developed and distributed according to a planned timeline.

Interactive/Creative Services

  • Update and maintain Club-related websites.
  • Maintain online communication vehicles, including but not limited to, emails (i.e. Constant Contact) and online social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Develop creative content (includes photography, digital, and interactive content).

Communications and Public Affairs

  • Monitor and catalog all media coverage of BGCCW activities across print, broadcast, and social media outlets.

Other

  • Maintains up to date knowledge of programs and activities at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming in order to effectively carry out job duties
  • Writes grants as assigned under the guidance of the Director of Development to support Club budget
  • Provides support for special events in coordination with the Events Coordinator, including design and production of marketing and other publications for events
  • Provides support for CEO in recording detailed minutes for Board of Directors and Foundation Board of Directors
  • Coordinate communications technology through media conferencing and create presentation assets
  • Other duties as assigned

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Four year degree in related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of two years work experience in marketing or related field
  • Extensive knowledge of computer design programs and social media marketing
  • Knowledge of fundraising techniques and sources of funding for non-profit agencies and organizations preferred
  • Grant writing and reporting
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills and communication skills needed
  • Current driver’s license required

Travel: Requires occasional travel within the region.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.50 - $20.67 per hour
