    The High Plains District Office is co-located with the Casper Field Office. At the base of Casper Mountain and along the banks of the North Platte River in central Wyoming, the High Plains District includes the Casper, Buffalo, and Newcastle Field Offices.

    Responsibilities

    This position performs duties related to budget/finance, records management, filing, and collections. The incumbent will process various transactions such as obligations, collections, distributions, reconciliations, etc. in an automated financial system. Maintain and review financial documents. Provide assistance in the completion of records reviews, inventories, and dispositions in accordance with records schedule. Prepare necessary documentation and coordinate the transfer of records to the Federal Records Center. Resolve issues related to missing materials and filing errors. Maintain the central filing system and provide assistance in researching and locating reference information and other files. Prepare appropriate receipts, records and tracking forms. Deposits monies. Reconcile accounts receivables, aging analysis reports, and suspense and unearned accounts. Transfers funds from one account to another. Process refunds and track status of trespass register and contributed funds.

    Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary, but may require periods of walking, standing, bending, or driving a motor vehicle and lifting of boxes, supplies, files, books, or other similar materials.

    Work Environment: The work is performed in a typical office environment.

    As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-5 for most clerical and administrative positions; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.     Qualifications

    In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - please be sure to include this information in your resume. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade of the position to be filled.

    To qualify for the GS-06 level: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level, OR 1 full year of directly related graduate level education, OR an equivalent combination of experience and education. Specialized experience for the GS-06 level is defined as: Performing standardized budgetary transactions in an automated financial system and maintain budget documents. Preparing receipts and deposits, reconciling accounts, and transferring funds between accounts. Assisting with records reviews, inventories, dispositions, and transfers. Maintaining a central filing system and providing assistance in researching and locating files.

    To qualify for the GS-07 level: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level, OR 1 full year of directly related graduate level education, OR an equivalent combination of experience and education. Specialized experience for the GS-07 level is defined as: Performing standardized budgetary transactions in an automated financial system and maintain budget documents. Identifying budgetary issues or problems and seeking solutions based on relevant regulations. Preparing receipts and deposits, reconciling accounts, and transferring funds between accounts. Performing records reviews, inventories, dispositions, and transfers. Maintaining a central filing system and providing assisting in researching and locating files.

    Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.

    You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
