Mortgage Loan Originator

Reliant FCU is a growing credit union serving all of Wyoming. This position has the potential for growth as we expand into new areas.

The MLO develops relationships and proactively originates new residential mortgage applications. They will be focused on building business and promoting Reliant FCU mortgage products to Members, Realtors and Builders These relationships will serve as recurring sources of leads and referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities.

Essential functions include but not limited to:

• Review and follow-up on inquiries, leads and referrals that are generated from Reliant FCU business channels.

• Communicate with applicants to review goals, conduct interviews, analyze financial data and review credit to align members with specific products and programs.

• Collect supporting loan documentation and application from the borrower to ensure a smooth transition to the processor and/or underwriter.

• Build relationships with other Reliant FCU team members and provide ongoing training, referrals, and support.

• Maintain current and thorough knowledge of all mortgage lending programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

• Present and educate the borrower on loan documents that are required by the various loan programs.

• Facilitate and/or participate in the loan closing.

Qualifications and skills required:

• A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business school, or completion of an extensive in-house training program.

• Two to five years of similar or related experience.

• Strong understanding of Mortgage processing, underwriting and closing procedures with current knowledge of conventional and/or government guidelines

• Understanding of Federal Regulations governing Real Estate Lending

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

• Solid time management skills and the ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
