Under general supervision of the Events Director, this position will oversee and manage all phases of graphic design, marketing, public relations, and sponsorship opportunities for the Laramie County Events Department, including the Laramie County Fair, Spirit of Giving, and all events held at the Laramie County Events Center throughout the year.

Marketing
Develop and implement successful marketing plans, strategies and tactics that meet the short and long-term promotional, financial and operational objectives for the Laramie County Fair and other events.
Communicates regularly with the Events Director to discuss new ideas to promote the facility and events
Create and design graphics and advertisements for various uses using the program Canva.
Provide marketing support for clients, shows, sporting events, conventions, and other miscellaneous events
Establishes and maintains working relationships with key personnel of the media, including newspapers, magazines, television and radio
Creates news releases and feature stories about the facility and special events to be sent to the media
Determines target market for each event and chooses proper media to reach them
Prepares and executes promotions, giveaways, contests
Takes photos of facility events and employee activities
Updates and maintains all department social media outlets and website.
Establish and maintain marketing budget between direct mail, newspaper, radio, television and promotion expenses
Attends internal/external meetings & events and represents the facility at external meetings as deemed necessary
Sponsorship
Prospect, sell, implement, and maintain corporate sponsorships and advertising for the venue and special events
Regularly engage in out-of-office sales efforts and presentations
Design sales proposals and presentations for potential sponsors
Evaluate the return on investment of existing sponsorship agreements, develop potential new sponsorship contracts and develop and administer policies related to corporate sponsorship
Achieve sponsorship revenue goals and budgets
Utilize existing categories and identify new categories as prospective new business leads
Renew and grow existing sponsorship and media partnerships
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of County policies and procedures
Knowledge of principle and practices of project management
Knowledge to proficiency work in Microsoft Work, Excel, PowerPoint, and Photoshop

Skill in the ability to spend time outside of the office conducting sales pitches to new prospective events and sponsors.
Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, sales, public relations, business administration, hospitality or related field: AND one year of experience in sales, marketing or related field; OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings
