Job Summary

Under the direction of a supervisor or qualified employee, installs, maintains, and operates pipelines and pipeline facilities, such as compressors, gas dehydrators, separators, line heaters, wellheads, tankage, product loading facilities, pressure regulators, gas quality and measurement equipment, and other natural gas, transportation-related equipment. Ensures pipeline and facilities are protected against damage from outside forces. Locates pipelines and associated equipment prior to, and during, excavation. Maintains accurate field records and reports for all equipment in work area. Under the direction of a supervisor or qualified employee, installs new equipment. Assists in compliance with all codes, standards, and permits regarding operation and maintenance of systems and facilities. Participates in process improvements, and solves problems effectively, as part of a diverse team.Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Field Operator I
Performs assignments designed to develop work knowledge, skills and abilities requiring application of policies, procedures, techniques and other criteria in carrying out all aspects of the job performs routine work assignments but over time will demonstrate the ability to perform more difficult work assignments. Works under established policies and procedures to meet set schedules and system or program requirements; continues to develop the knowledge, skills and abilities to reach a higher level of proficiency and work complexity.

Field Operator II
Proficiently performs assignments having the knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience needed to carry out all aspects of the job; exercises independent judgment and decision-making in planning, organizing, and conducting work assignments; may receive instructions and guidance on unusual or complex problems and knows when to get others involved; effectively utilizes the proper resources to develop solutions and devise new approaches to problems encountered in work assignments; identifies and eliminates unnecessary work and non-value-added activities. Working knowledge of equipment such as compressors, dehydrators, and separators.

The successful candidate will be placed in the Field Operator I or Field Operator II position, depending on their knowledge, skill, ability, experience and education.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Field Operator I - 0-2 years related experience. Knowledge of, and ability to effectively use, modern technology, including laptopcomputers, desktop computers, smart phones, email, word processing, and online tools. Knowledge of basic math. Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment andcomply with OSHA-required testing. Ability to develop knowledge and effectively followcompany procedures, practices, regulations, requirements, and policies. Ability to develop knowledge of mechanical equipment usedin the job, such as compressors, dehydrators, and separators. Ability to implement proper and safe use of hand tools andmaintenance tools. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing and work effectively with diverse teams. Ability to prioritize work effectively, and to make correctdecisions under diverse circumstances. Ability to work independently, and within a diverse team. Ability to handle stressful andemergency situations, requiring the use of sight, hearing, and smell to safely navigate the workplace environment.

Field Operator II - At least 4 years of related experience, that includes the knowledge, skills and abilities required of a Field Operator I. Ability to learn basic FERC regulations and necessaryrequirements. Ability to learn companyPipeline Tariff sections concerning gas quality requirements; ability to communicate, orally and in writing; ability to work effectively within a diverse team as well as workindependently and prioritize work; ability to see objects at close range, at a distance and determine distance and relationship betweenobjects; ability to detect burning materials, natural gas, and hazardous substances; ability to match or discriminate betweencolors; andability to to hearequipment warning signals. Skill in using hand and maintenance tools; skill in effectively responding to stressful situations, and appropriately handling emergencies, which may include changing flat tires, chaining up vehicles,operating jacks, performing minor maintenance, and operating two-way radios.

MountainWest Pipeline owns and operates the Clay Basin storage facility located on the Wyoming-Utah border. Clay Basin is the largest underground storage reservoir in the Rocky Mountain Region. MountainWest Pipeline owns and operates the Overthrust Pipeline in southwestern Wyoming and operates and owns 50% of the White River Hub which provides transportation and hub services through interconnections with six interstate pipeline systems and a major processing plant near Meeker, Colorado.
