impact of local and global issues, technology and innovation. You will be the face of this department and speaker at social engagements and social media expert. We advocate for partnering with academia, influential minds of our time, local, national, and internationally. We work closely with policy makers both locally and in our government to conduct informative research, exchange ideas and to always be grounded in solid research and science, never forgetting the human element. Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a related field
Must speak English fluently, desired but not required (Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Italian)
10-15 years of relevant combined experience to include event planning, fundraising, government grant writing, public speaking, marketing, desired but not required legislative and/or lobbying experience, Master’s degree, prior experience as a nonprofit director or executive director.
Experience in defense and intelligence issues in the U.S. federal agencies including the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and the State Department
Understanding of legislative processes, especially the federal budget and appropriations processes
Strong social and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish relationships with elected officials, academia, energy and trade associations and think tanks, and industry partners
Strong written and oral communication, research, and leadership skills
Highly proactive, entrepreneurial, and able to develop successful solutions
Organized, self-motivated, and accountable; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work collaboratively at all levels, and to engage comfortably with senior executives
MS Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required, Adobe, and graphic design.
