JOB SUMMARY

Works under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer. Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates a comprehensive community relations program for all Campbell County Memorial Hospital services and facilities consisting of paid advertising, community service events, public relations, internal communication, staff promotion and medical staff promotion and retention. Manages the daily operations of the department or assigned function to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. Protects and promotes the image and recognition of the Campbell County Health brand.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

  • Prepares an annual marketing and public relations plan to assist in the continuing implementation of the CCH strategic plan.
  • Assists and advises in the development of marketing plans service lines, new or expanded programs and/or services.
  • Develops and monitors departmental operating and capital budgets.
  • Oversees the preparation of all hospital advertising and promotional materials. Supervises the maintenance and negotiation of contracts for advertising purchases.
  • Responds to requests from the media, supervising the production of proactive and reactive press releases.
  • Maintains and periodically evaluates the organization’s Communications and Corporate Identity Manual.
  • Serves as a liaison with various community groups on behalf of the hospital to enhance the hospital’s relationship with the public.
  • Coordinates receptions and other special events to promote staff, services, and physicians.
  • Responsible for coordination the production of the bimonthly employee newsletter and other internal recognition, information, and promotional materials.
  • Supervises the Community Relations Specialist, Business Development, Content Creation and Content Manager, Public Relations Lead, Marketing Specialist, and Volunteer Services Coordinator.
  • Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.
  • Complies with the hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or degree with related experience.
  • Licenses

    • None
  • Experience

    • Minimum of two years’ experience in healthcare marketing, public relations and/or promotion (or educational and work equivalent).
    • Knowledge of healthcare operations
    • The ability to maintain continuing education requirements and all certifications and licenses as required (e.g. ACLS, PALS, CPI, CPR)
    • Excellent interpersonal skills in communicating sensitive business matters to individuals who have varying levels of comprehension, and problem-solving skills necessary to interact with managers, employees, vendors, media, and the public.
    • Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to think quickly and handle various projects simultaneously. Ability to act decisively and take effective action. Knowledge of software applications.
    • Detail-oriented and outstanding administrative and organizational skills, professional telephone skills and a strong customer service mindset and style.
    • Analytical and reasoning skills with a high level of mental concentration and memory.
    • Computer Knowledge including the ability to enter material into electronic record. Ability to operate fax, computer, and copy machine to perform the duties of the position.
    • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions and under stressful conditions.
    • Able to comprehend technical medical terminology.

Hours of Work | Monday through Friday, although will be expected to work evenings, nights and weekends as job and duties require.

Exposure to Hazards: Persons who perform these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.

Employees working in healthcare facilities and in the Director Community Relations position have the potential to be exposed to hazardous materials including Hazardous Chemicals/Drugs, Waste Anesthetic Gases, Radiation, Latex, Biological Hazards, Respiratory Hazards, and Ergonomic Hazards. This position is located on-site in Gillette, WY and is not eligible for remote work.
