Provide instructional assistance/support and daily care for students with special needs as directed by the teacher(s)/therapist(s) and building principal
Responsibilities include following daily plans from supervising teacher(s) and/or therapist(s), making necessary preparations for student care, assisting student(s) as directed, and performing other duties as may be assigned.
This position is based upon student need and in accordance with the students IEP (Individual Education Plan)
Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent required; two (2) years of college (48 hours) or Associate’s Degree (or higher) highly preferred
Demonstrated ability to work with a student that has special needs and follow instructions provided by the teacher and supervisor
Team oriented; possession of human relations skills; ability to work cooperatively with parents and staff
Ability to work in dynamic, diverse settings; willingness to adapt to specific or new working situations
Prior experience with individuals with disabilities, CPR/first aid training, and daily accommodations/modifications preferred
Salary: District Support Services Wage Schedule (2022-23 Base = $15.00/hour, a para holding B.A. in education, base = $16.00 per hour)
Employment Term: 25 hours per week, this is a non-benefit eligible position.
