Functions as a broad-based Human Resource Manager to lead and consult Operations on the implementation of HR strategies. Serves as a facilitator in change management within a fast-paced environment requiring the ability to adapt and to think creatively in response to the complexity of multiple and diverse challenges. The position consults on a number of HR issues including employee relations, compensation, performance management, and recruiting, and organizational development. Acts as a consultant and advisor to all employees within the facility.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree

  • Requires five years of experience in Human Resources

Essential Functions

Employment Policies

  • Assists in managing the human resources function including discharging, and training employees

  • Monitors the Equal Employment Opportunity policy at the facility to ensure equal opportunity for all employees and applicants for employment

  • Monitors the Ethnic, Religious, and Racial Harassment Policy to ensure a work environment where no individual is subjected to any harassment

  • Monitors compliance with Immigration Laws for employment to ensure that every person accepted for employment will complete Form I-9 within three business days of starting date

  • Monitors the employment policies and procedures that are in accordance with requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act

Recruitment

  • Obtains required authorizations prior to posting positions

  • Reference checks

  • Background/drug screens

  • Arranges interviews with managers and initial interview with candidates

Health and Safety

  • Counsels, advise and monitor the maintenance of a safe working environment

  • Monitors the Substance Abuse Policy that is in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations to ensure a Drug-Free Workplace

  • Resolves Workers’ Compensation issues for facility employees

Working Conditions

  • Recommends guidelines for maintaining employment records and releasing information from an employee file

  • Recommends counsel, advice, and written Policies and Procedures on Human Resource matters to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and regulations

  • Assists CEO and supervisors on performance evaluation procedures

  • Works with managers and employees to solve problems and resolve grievances

  • Advises CEO and supervisors on policies and procedures for handling discipline problems

Employee Benefits

  • Assists in administering competitive employee benefit program for facility employees

  • Participates in orientation of new employees

Employee Files

  • Maintains employee files

  • Assures current licenses and certifications

  • Primary Source Verification

Termination of Employment

  • Provides counsel and assistance to CEO, employees, and supervisors in making the termination decision and implementing the termination of the employment process.

Assists the CEO in the coordination of the following HR and productivity items:

  • Employee retention

  • Unemployment claims

  • Health plan utilization

  • Work compensation utilization

  • Employee Engagement Survey
