We have Relations Specialist opportunities across the United States to schedule events for VALOR Human Resources Specialist to provide Federal retirement workshops in and around your state.

Relations Specialist Information:

  • Present incentive plans to local Federal contacts
  • Coordinate event schedules and locations for events with local Federal contacts

  • Schedule up to 3 events (1-3 days) per month

  • On-site facilitation of events

  • Base pay is $300 per event with additional monetary incentives

  • Travel is necessary within your state and/or adjacent states

  • Training is provided by VALOR Benefit Services

This is an as-needed Independent Contractor position with no benefits. You are responsible for personal taxes and travel expenses.

Job Description

SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible to create, build and foster a positive relationship with various organizations that interact or represent Federal Government employees. This will require making contacts and creating meaningful relationships with agencies, associations and unions within a geographical area. This will allow the RS to offer Valor Benefit Services through various venues. The RS will schedule and attend workshops and events and will be the primary point of contact between the organizations and Valor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates and maintains relationships with Federal Union and Management Organizations.
  • RS may interact with groups that are not directly related to Unions or Organizations but provide a platform to those clients that we provide services. Maintaining relationships with these organizations are also vital to the success of VALOR.
  • Provide information and explain the benefits of participating in VBS sponsorship agreements.
  • Coordinate workshop schedules with union and management organizations.
  • Maintain up-to-date information regarding VALOR workshops and related matters.
  • Attend workshops, checking in clients at workshops and take electronic payments as necessary.
  • Providing support and information on behalf of VALOR.
  • Work with local contacts at the workshops to schedule future events.
  • Assist when requested, by participating in workshops and giving support to VALOR staff.
  • Follow directives and policies of VALOR and perform follow up requirements as necessary.
  • Workshops will be scheduled and presented year-round.
  • Due to our structure of limited seating, workshops may extend to two or possibly three days

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Maintain up-to -date information regarding VBS workshop and related matters.
  • Follow directives and policies of VALOR regarding processes, reporting and follow up requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong client and team relationship development skills

  • Strong mathematical skills

  • Computer Skills:

    • Microsoft Office (Specifically Excel and Word)

    • Internet Navigation

    • Credit Card Processing Program

    • Ability to easily learn other software programs as needed

  • Ability to travel within your assigned region
  • High School Diploma

SCHEDULE:

Must be flexible for scheduling and coordinating 1 to 3 workshops per month. Each workshop may last up to 3 days. The number of workdays vary, depending upon the selected applicant’s success.

COMPENSATION:

Base pay is $300 per completed event with additional monetary incentives available. This is an independent contractor position, meaning there are no benefits; however, eligible for tax deductions. The selected applicant will be responsible for paying Federal/state/local taxes and travel expenses.
