The Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care to patients of a Community Living Center (CLC) environment in the Mountain View Living Center.
The Long Term Care Units of the Sheridan VA HCS offer long term care to residents with a variety of chronic illnesses. Additionally, residents may be offered rehabilitation, as well as temporary placement if they are unable to return to their homes. The skilled units provide skilled care to residents with acute and chronic medical, as well as surgical diagnoses. The majority of these residents have complex needs requiring skilled nursing assessment and resident monitoring and IV infusions. The MVLC/CLC also provides palliative and hospice care, offering comfort rather than cure to the residents with extensive disease that is life-limiting. The focus of care is pain control, symptom management and relief of suffering. In addition, nursing staff provide spiritual and emotional support to both residents and families. Tasks are as follows, (but not limited to):
