This position serves as an Occupational Therapist for the Sheridan VA Healthcare System. The Occupational Therapist performs patient evaluations, establishes treatment plans, and provides treatment for a wide variety of patient referrals from both the acute care units and outpatient clinic.

Participation in the seasonal influenza program is a condition of employment and a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP). HCP are individuals who, during the influenza season, work in VHA locations where patients receive care or who come into contact with VA patients as part of their duties. VHA locations include, but are not limited to, VA hospitals and associated clinics, community living centers (CLCs), community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs), domiciliary units, Vet centers and VA-leased facilities. HCP include all VA licensed and unlicensed, clinical and administrative, paid and unpaid, full- and part-time employees, intermittent employees, fee basis employees, VA contractors, students, researchers, volunteers, and trainees who work at these facilities.
Individuals assigned as GS-11 OTs must demonstrate all of the following KSAOs:
(a) Knowledge of advanced occupational therapy techniques to perform functions associated within the occupational therapy scope of practice.
(b) Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
(c) Ability to adapt assessment tools and treatment to the complexity of the diagnosis or disabilities and demonstrate the clinical reasoning necessary to identify the need for further in depth specific assessment of function and utilization of non-standard methods and techniques.
(d) Knowledge of principles and techniques in the occupational therapy assessment and treatment of occupational, cognitive, and psychological functional deficits.
(e) Ability to interact with patients, families, and other health care providers.
(f) Ability to facilitate and instruct in-service and clinical training programs.
(g) Knowledge and ability to apply all health and safety regulations to minimize and mitigate risks in the provision of patient care and environmental maintenance.
