JOB SUMMARY

The HR Development Supervisor is responsible for training initiatives and daily standard work processes within the HR and Education departments to maintain organizational effectiveness, promote development for clinical and non-clinical staff, and to ensure compliance with HR and Education regulatory standards. This position reports to the HR Development Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


  • Supervises educator(s) and department coordinator(s) within HR/Education, and facilitates problem-solving and planning strategies with the team.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance, overseeing accurate record-keeping pertaining to staff onboarding, education, certification and competencies.
  • Oversees new employee/new manager orientation and staff development initiatives, and regularly evaluates and improves programming based on organizational and new hire needs.
  • Facilitates competency steering committee to develop a decision-making framework for competency development and ongoing assessment.
  • Collaborates with department stakeholders to evaluate education programs and department process flow with formalized metrics, gap analysis, and Lean tools/strategies to ensure organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develops and facilitates programs pertaining to teambuilding, communication, leadership development, safety, compliance, or individual competencies for clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Develops and maintains organizational communication strategies to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
  • Responsible for the organization’s education equipment and the electronic learning management system.
  • Researches organization development and healthcare training trends and best practices that may enhance our training process and address the needs of individuals and the organization.
  • Develops training tools and materials in accordance with adult learning principles and current best practices.
  • Reviews SMH policy and procedure updates to determine the need and appropriate method for staff education.
  • Assists with monitoring education spending and forecasting recommendations.
  • Assists with policy and procedure research, development, and manager/staff policy and procedure education.
  • Supports management with compliance in all areas of employment law (State and Federal), as well as HR and Education compliance with other regulatory agencies.
  • Monitors industry developments in the area of human resources; analyzes proposed state and federal law, regulations, and court decision for impact on organization HR and healthcare administration practices.

Human Resources Responsibilities

  • Maintains procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow.
  • Participates in department performance improvement processes and activities.
  • Maintains knowledge of current state and federal employment laws.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS



Education / Experience / License and Certifications

  • Master's degree in Organization Development, Human Resources, or closely related field, preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Maintains clinical license and certifications, if applicable, such as RN, PA/NP, etc.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in training or program development, strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in hospital/healthcare setting, strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience, strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and organized.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
