Job Summary

As a part of the Northern Wyoming Community College District marketing team, the Digital Marketing Specialist participates fully in helping to promote our colleges in creative and innovative ways.

The specialist is responsible for ensuring that NWCCD maintains a progressive online presence that effectively represents the college district. As a member of the creative team, this person oversees all digital marketing efforts, including maintenance and continuous improvement of the colleges’ websites; creation and execution of digital marketing campaigns; utilizing appropriate analytical tools to optimize the online experience; and maintaining consistency of brand image, identity, and message.

VP of Community Engagement and Strategic Communication


Education/Qualifications

Associate degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated creative use of various contemporary web development and support tools including, but not limited to: HTML, PHP, CSS, and graphics editing software (knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred). WordPress experience a plus.
  • Proficient with CRM tools for database driven websites.
  • Strong knowledge of online marketing principles and best practices.
  • Ability to utilize Google analytics and apply SEO techniques.
  • Evaluate and edit content, structure, and format of web pages to ensure successful communication of materials and peak performance.
  • Ability to work with in-house IT staff and outside vendors providing support and/or hosting services.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of marketing and public relations strategies.
  • Communicate effectively in both written and oral forms.
  • Recognize opportunities and demonstrate imagination and initiative to take action.
  • Work as a team member and foster a cooperative team environment.
  • Ability to learn and understand our entire district and programs offered as well as appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Work independently to accomplish goals and meet deadlines.
  • Keep abreast of best practices, trends, and new technologies.
  • Translate technical information into user-friendly documentation.


Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

No major sources of discomfort, standard office environment. Regular exposure to video terminal displays.

Some evenings and weekends as necessary.

Experience

3-5 years of experience in website management and content creation.

Responsibility/Duty

Develop, update, and support the college website environment to provide a modern web presence for the public. This includes troubleshooting and debugging issues that arise as well as reviewing and interpreting website analytics. This also includes ensuring appropriate higher education compliance.

Manage the digital marketing (SEO, SEM, etc.) efforts, and work to optimize the online experience across multiple channels and touch points.
