Sheridan County School District No. 2 is seeking a positive and dependable person to join our Human Resources Team! This position is year round; eligible for health, dental, vision and life insurance; contributes to the Wyoming Retirement System Public Employee Pension; and will receive 47 days of paid leave, per year. Paid leave consists of 19 holidays, 12 vacation days, 4 personal days, and 12 sick days.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma with coursework in human resources, business administration, or a related field is desirable.

  • An Associates Degree and experience performing clerical or technical level work in human resources is highly preferred.

REPORTS TO: Human Resources Director


JOB GOALS: Performs administrative support of day-to-day human resource operations.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Welcomes employees and visitors of the Central Office in person, or on the telephone in a courteous and professional manner; and responds to general inquiries to ensure quick and courteous resolution.
  • Performs various routine clerical duties including basic research, ordering supplies, mailing letters, making photocopies, creating labels, etc.
  • Processes all new hires, transfers, promotions, student teachers and volunteers including pre-employment screenings, badge access, new hire checklists and verification of official transcripts, VOS forms and PTSB certification for applicable positions.
  • Updates several databases with information pertaining to new hires, transfers and separations of employment.
  • Processes staff separations including separation paperwork, scheduling exit interviews, updating applicable databases and purging files.
  • Maintains confidential personnel files and hiring records in compliance with applicable legal requirements. Maintains and purges student files from other schools on an annual basis.
  • Processes, sorts and distributes both incoming and outgoing mail for the Central Office.
  • Tracks the completion of annual evaluations for all District staff.
  • Updates information relating to HR on the District’s intranet and website.
  • Serves as a point of contact for building secretaries regarding new or updated procedures; coordinates monthly meetings for building secretaries including scheduling, preparing an agenda, taking minutes and other related support.
  • Assists in the hiring process for Substitute Teachers and Paraprofessionals including calling applicants and scheduling interviews.
  • Prepares and maintains HR related documents, databases and reports.
  • Participates in the coordination and administration of special projects or programs as assigned.
  • Maintains high levels of confidentiality regarding applicants, employees and students.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature, as assigned by the Human Resources Director.
  • Acts as a liaison to district staff, students, and the community.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Upper body strength to lift up to 25 pounds and carry for more than 50 feet throughout the work day.
  • Lower body strength to stand and walk throughout the day.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Visual acuity and stamina to work at a computer monitor throughout the work day.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Employment relationship with the District is at will and of indefinite duration; twelve months with vacations as per District Policy. Eight hours per day; salary and fringe benefits to be set by Board of Trustees.


EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
