JOB TITLE: Construction Field Technician I (Refined Fuels)

FLSA: NON-EXEMPT

REPORTS TO: Lead or Senior Foreman

POSITION SUMMARY:

CGRS Construction laborers perform a variety of tasks at our construction sites. This is an entry level position and the tasks that will be required involve skills can be learned quickly. Our field technician are required to work outside in all kinds of weather. We are looking for the people that are willing to learn and want to advance in their positions and have forward momentum in their career. We are looking for individuals who are coachable, have a positive attitude and are willing to learn.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Operate a variety of hand and power tools.

Clean and prepare construction sites as needed, including erecting scaffolding, removing and properly disposing of debris and waste materials, and digging trenches.

Shovel materials to and from construction areas, including asphalt and dirt.

Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site on a daily basis.

Load and unload construction supplies from trucks both manually and with the use of equipment.

Carry out field documentation when applicable.

Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management.

Assist with equipment maintenance.

Record data into computer database as appropriate.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

EDUCATION: High School diploma preferred.

EXPERIENCE: One or more years of experience in a related position based on education and skill sets. 40 hour OSHA training a plus. (Preferred)

SKILLS: Must be very organized and willing to work independently. Initiate

responsible action. Be professional and have good people skills. Attention

to detail required. Must be willing to manage an ever-changing workload; patience and flexibility are important. Willingness to participate in on-going continuing education.

Teamwork-working with your co-workers to carry out policies and goals of CGRS is required.

REQUIREMENTS: Completion of 3 day CGRS field training certification, 40 hour hazmat training, Confined Space training, Heart Saver First Aid training. Licensed by state as required. DOT certified as needed. (We can provide training and certification)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

EQUIPMENT USED: Must be able to operate computers demonstrating basic experience.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must have a valid Colorado Drivers license, required Colorado automobile insurance and good driving record. Position requires regular vision and normal range of hearing. Employee must be able to lift 70 lbs. Able to climb, bend, stoop, kneel and stand for various periods. Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard. Position involves driving, standing, bending, and heavy lifting a high percentage of the time.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work outside in a variety of conditions. Must be willing to carry out company goals and policies. Requires good MVR, background check, physical and drug test. Able to work without direct supervision & travel extensively. This can involve being out of town 1-5 days a week. Overtime may be required.
