We are a couple of young professionals looking for dependable part-time manual labor as a groundskeeper and handyman. The total amount of work is negotiable, but we anticipate 10-20 hours weekly.
About you:
You should be professional, responsible, detail-oriented, meticulous, and respectful. We want someone who is good at following instructions, asking questions if confused or in doubt, and good at meeting deadlines.
About the work:
This job is primarily for yardwork and other outdoor chores: In the summer months you will be responsible for raking pine needles, leaf blowing, lawn-mowing, weed-eating, weeding, cleaning gutters, washing windows, summerizing/winterizing evaporative cooler, and hot-tub maintenance (chemicals and cleaning). In the winter months you will be responsible for shoveling snow or snow blowing as needed.
Depending on skill and experience, you may also be asked to help with basic handyman type work or repairs such as basic plumbing work (i.e. replacing faucets or basic toilet parts) and painting (exterior and interior). If you desire more work, there is an opportunity for basic handyman work at a local small business as well as errand running (returns, grocery pick-up, etc.).
This work is very important for our family. We will provide all the essential tools, equipment, and supplies needed to get the work done. If you’re looking for a casual position where you can “phone it in,” this is not the job for you. Please do not apply. Although this is not an formal office job or full-time gig, our need for help is serious and top-level results is crucial. You must consistently pay close attention to detail, have plenty of initiative, and be proactive at finding new ways to provide value to our family without having to be closely monitored or micromanaged at every turn.
