Purpose: Assist in the safe installation, programming/configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting of oil and gas field automation equipment in the Powder River Basin. Primary tasks include but are not limited to field wiring, low voltage instrumentation (transmitters, flow meters, valves/instrumentation, etc.), communications, supporting physical structures and piping.
Responsibilities:
Work safely; participate and provide input at daily tailgate meetings
Follow and adhere to all instructions given by manager, lead technician and/or project/field service engineer
Complete job assignments in a timely fashion under the direction of higher-skilled technicians/engineers
Understand the proper use of and work safely with hand tools and power equipment as required for assignments
Notify project/field service engineer, and/or manager of any discrepancies in equipment or documentation
Be efficient with breadth of technologies used to support equipment such as RTUs, level and pressure transmitters, multi variable transmitters, communications equipment, and communications protocols (serial, Ethernet, HART, etc.)
Install all equipment so it is safe, functional, clean, and professional
Skills/Qualifications:
Understand and interpret electrical drawings and P&IDs
Efficient computer skills and basic knowledge of programming
Ability to troubleshoot field wiring down to a module level
Proper use and care of hand tools and power tools
Must be professional, punctual, reliable and willing to work weekends and/or callouts
Maintain a valid state drivers license with a good driving record
Adhere to/comply with drug testing policies
Working Conditions:
Includes but is not limited to working at heights requiring harness, year-round work in an outdoor environment, loud equipment areas, and possible hazardous locations related to the oil and gas industry. This position may require working evening, weekend and holiday hours, as well as overnight travel. Participation in 24/7 emergency call-out coverage is required. Lifting up to 70 pounds is required on occasion.
