Teams are composed of cross-functional engineers working in an AGILE environment (approximately 6-10 people) focused on the design and development of software-only products. Our team focuses on creating avionics solutions for both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, including the integration of various radios and surveillance equipment for domestic and international military customers.Role OverviewWe are looking for an Summer Intern engineer, disciplined in Software Engineering to join our TCMA team in Huntsville, Alabama. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing Agile software engineering processes and activities.What You Will Do:
Design, implement, and evaluate software in C, Python within the Agile framework
Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with other engineers in the planning, design, development of military technology
Work closely with cross-functional research teams to evaluate the effectiveness of early software prototypes
Independently perform multiple tasks given support from a mentor
Implement requirements, detailed design, implementing software, integration, and verification in accordance with software development processes.
Accomplish tasks based on program schedule, collaborate with teammates in order to make the best decisions
Enjoy learning new technologies, be self-motivated and contribute to a positive work environment.
What You Will Learn:
You will learn software and documentation development as defined in the Agile team environment
You will learn a current software language (c/ c or ada) depending on the military customer program that your assigned too
You will learn military tactical communication with the radio or radio control applications that Collins produces.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer:
Familiarity with Agile software development cycle
Familiarity with design and development using languages such as C, C, Java, Ada and Python.
Ability to successfully contribute in collaborative, cross-domain development environments
Problem-solving and decision-making skills

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
